One-pound glass jar of raw wildflower honey
Sold by weight, this is a one-pound glass jar of raw, wildflower honey. Our bees produce honey from the many nectar sources available throughout the year. We are able to harvest honey usually two times per year, in early July and in mid September.
Early summer honey is lighter in color and flavor. Blossoms producing nectar include dandelions, clover, blackberries, raspberries or brambles, and many fruiting trees including apple, pear, plum, and cherry. The honey is mild in flavor, with floral or fruity notes.
Late summer honey is darker and more floral in flavor. Flower blossoms producing nectar include clover, hawkweed, and native perennials like elderberry, joe pye weed, summersweet, and goldenrod. The honey may have an herbal scent and be more tangy on the palate, or it may have more of a caramel flavor with vanilla notes.
